Making Europe stronger through bilateral collaboration

The foundation of prosperity in Germany is a politically strong and competitive EU. The European single market is the domestic market of German companies. Looking forward, political and economic cooperation among EU member countries must be intensified not only in Brussels but also on a bilateral and multilateral level. We at the BDI work closely together with our partners to make Europe stronger and mould the environment for stable economic growth in Germany.

Transatlantic Cooperation: A Progress Report from the TTC

The Trade and Technology Council (TTC) is one of the most important transatlantic cooperation forums between the United States of America (US) and the European Union (EU). The third meeting in December 2022 made it clear that cooperation is closer than it has been for years. However, political commitments must now be followed by concrete actions.

German-Dutch innovation and technology pact

The German-Dutch innovation and technology pact was signed in early 2021. The pact aims to intensify bilateral collaboration between both countries by expanding existing cooperation and developing business cooperation in new areas

Switzerland: Hard times for relations with close partner

The termination by Switzerland of talks on an institutional framework agreement with the EU in 2021 had immediate consequences for companies on both sides. Already today, companies require product authorisations from both sides for certain goods. The problems are set to become more difficult in the next few years. German industry is involved in searching for solutions.
