“The figures from the German Federal Statistical Office prove that the United States is an increasingly important market and trading partner for German industry, with its many mid-sized firms. We will only be able to make full use of this new economic potential with the help of a comprehensive free trade agreement. We need to work towards strengthening transatlantic relations. In view of the current geopolitical crises, Germany as an export nation requires a sustained momentum for growth. Policymakers must therefore do everything they can to bring negotiations on the free trade agreement with the United States to a swift and successful conclusion.”
