Economic Partnership Agreements in East Africa

The long-negotiated Economic Partnership Agreements (EPAs) between the East African Community (EAC) and the European Union (EU) are still not being implemented. Together with the East African Business Council (EABC), the BDI has thus drawn up a joint declaration to promote a speedy ratification of the EPAs. These agreements are important for creating certainty for investors and providing African entrepreneurs with long-term duty-free and quota-free access to the EU market.
