Reducing regional disparities through investment

Regional and cohesion policy funds need to be more strongly directed towards growth, infrastructure, investment and to improving workers’ qualifications. EU cohesion policy should remain adequately financed to foster the regional convergence of economic performance. Marginal real spending cuts are nonetheless justified in view of the considerable progress achieved in economic development, particularly in the poorest regions.
