German enterprises are reliable employers, investors and partners in the United States. The partnership between Germany and the United States contributes significantly to global economic growth and prosperity. However, the Wunderbar Together PopUp Tour does not only illustrate this connection. The Tour also highlights how both countries can mutually strengthen one another through deepened economic and cultural ties.
The Germany Week was organized by the German-American Chamber of Commerce Chicago and sponsored by the Year of German-American Friendship. Over the course of the ten-day event, Daley Plaza turned into an innovative showcase of German cooking, art and culture, as well as science and business.
The Germany Week served as the kickoff for the PopUp Tour of the Year of German-American Friendship. The Tour is the central format of industry involvement in the Wunderbar Together initiative. Between April 26 and May 5, discussions on business-related topics, science slams, art exhibitions, and concerts took place on Daley Plaza; in addition, an interactive program covered topics such as the future of work, digitalization, and sustainability tailored to high school and university students. The PopUp Tour will stop by the sunny Atlanta, Georgia, from September 24 to 28 and will come to a close with a brilliant program in Portland, the “City of Roses”, from October 9 to 12, 2019.
