“Save the Single Market” – Application and Further Development of the New Legislative Framework

Millions of new jobs, continuous economic growth and free movement of goods thanks to the removal of trade barriers – these are important achievements over 25 years of the European Single Market. As one of the main pillars of this Single Market for products, the New Legislative Framework (abbreviated to NLF) ensures fast market access, international competitiveness and swift innovation.

BDI, the Federation of German Industries, jointly with the German industrial associations VDMA (mechanical engineering) and ZVEI (electrical and electronic engineering) and the Austrian associations FMTI (metal technology) and FEEI (electrical and electronics industry), would like to reinstate a high awareness of NLF among all political decision-makers. The future application and development of the New Legislative Framework should be discussed with high-level representatives of German and Austrian industry, the European Commission as well as Members of the European Parliament.
