Modernizing the EU Enforcement Regulation

For Better Responsiveness in Trade Disputes

In December 2019, the European Commission proposed amendments to the EU Enforcement Regulation in order to be able to respond to trade policy disputes as long as the binding WTO dispute settlement is blocked. For example, the EU should be able to introduce retaliatory measures if a third country does not want to engage in an appellate procedure. BDI supports the proposals of the EU.
