In the coming years, prosperity in Germany will increasingly have to be generated through technology and knowledge. Therefore, Germany has to take more concerted action to set the course for progress in industrial policy. The strategic priorities must continue to be the deepening of the European single market, the international trade and investment regime but in the digital world too, a good balance must be found between productivity and social cohesion.
