Given the developments of the export markets, the BDI expects 2016 to bring an up to 0.5 percent increase in manufacturing production in Germany. Global industrial production is set to increase by 1.5 percent overall in 2016 in comparison to the previous year. At the same time, the rate of expansion in emerging countries has declined. German exports are expected to grow by approximately one percent in 2016 whereas foreign trade will be far below the high growth rates seen last year.
