In view of the continuing tensions in international container shipping, the BDI is calling for the EU Block Exemption Regulation for consortia in liner shipping (BER) to be adapted in order to secure maritime supply chains reliably even after the pandemic. The deficits in liner shipping in terms of quality, transport capacities, and punctuality of ship arrivals are having a massive impact on industry's supply chains.
