BDI expects manufacturing output in Germany to increase by 2.5 percent in 2018 after plus 3.3 percent in 2017. The strongly export-oriented manufacturing sector did also benefit from the pick-up in global trade. Industrial production worldwide increased by 3.5 percent in 2017 compared to the previous year.
