BDI Representation Beijing

The People’s Republic of China has become a key sales market for many German companies. Conversely, Germany is also China’s biggest trading partner in Europe.

The BDI is committed to establishing a partnership on equal terms between Germany and China. Together with the federal government, the BDI is working to improve the business environment for German enterprises in China. The key issues here are an easing of market access restrictions and the effective protection of intellectual property. Ensuring fair competition and voluntary technology transfer processes are further objectives that the BDI is pursuing not only in China but also in EU and non-EU markets.

The BDI also works in cooperation with other members of the Asia-Pacific Committee of German Business (APA) to support the projects of German companies in China. A particular focus here is on offers to Chinese partners in the area of sustainable production, environmental technologies and energy efficiency. The participation of the BDI via the APA in the organisation of high-ranking business delegations to accompany government representatives on their trips to China ensures that key concerns of German business feature in talks on economic policy.
