EU package harbours dangers for industry

BDI Director General Markus Kerber comments on the initiative of the EU Commission relating to tax harmonisation.

“The EU package harbours dangers for German industry. The reshaping of tax law means that enterprises operating across national borders are threatened with double taxation and disputes. This makes dispute settlement mechanisms all the more important. At present these are lacking and must be completed by the EU Commission as fast as possible. Uniform minimum standards in the EU package, on the other hand, make a valuable contribution to greater legal security.”
