The pandemic and the Russian war of aggression on Ukraine have revealed with brutal clarity the vulnerability of Western industrialized nations. To date, the partners in the EU and NATO have been able to cope with the consequences. But the next shakeup of the security architecture, of supply chains, value creation and values, may be lurking just around the corner. Security cannot be taken for granted anymore for the foreseeable future.
