Members of the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy (ITRE) of the European Parliament proposed 600 amendments to the EU Commission’s proposal for a Directive on Security of Network and Information Systems (NIS 2-Directive). German industry welcomes several of these amendments as they help to enhance Europe’s cyber-resilience while ensuring that industry is not confronted with over-regulation. However, we see the urgent need for further amendments, especially concerning the potential level of fines, the scope and several definitions.
