In light of the upcoming trialogue between EU-Commission, Council and EU-Parliament on the E-Privacy regulation, this paper outlines the three key demands of German industry. BDI advocates the right balance between the protection of data and the enablement of innovation. This includes an alignment of the E-Privacy regulation with the GDPR, the compatible processing of metadata and the consent to software updates by legal entities.
