Alternative fuels and innovative propulsion systems are the cornerstones for the decarbonisation of maritime shipping. BDI therefore supports the FuelEU Maritime initiative as a technology-open approach for their market ramp-up. Nevertheless, European legislators need to readjust: The availability of alternative fuels and the expansion of infrastructure must be stimulated without imposing further unilateral burdens on EU companies.
