The European Commission plans to implement a standardised methodology for calculating greenhouse gas emissions in freight and passenger transport with CountEmissions EU. The BDI welcomes this initiative. To ensure that CountEmissions EU creates transparency for transport service providers and their customers, effective incentives, technology neutrality as well as European and global harmonisation in a voluntary system are required.
