BDI welcomes the European Commission’s objective of optimising fairness and transparency in online platforms, online intermediation services and search engines. Insofar as market distortions exist, they must be addressed. However, self-regulation measures by companies – alongside ex-post control through competition law – should continue to be the means of choice. A P2B-regulation must be limited to platforms in the P2B2C-relationship and should not be applied to pure B2B-platforms.
