In spring 2022, the EU Commission held a public consultation on the revision of the REACH Regulation. With the revision, the EU Commission is planning far-reaching changes in European chemicals regulation. The BDI participated in the consultation with a comprehensive position paper. In this paper, the BDI makes it clear that the revision of the REACH Regulation must be carried out with a sense of proportion in order to prevent negative effects on the innovative capacity and sovereignty of European industry.
