Recommendations for a strong health industry in Europe

The healthcare industry is an important driver of growth and value creation for Germany and Europe. The European pharmaceutical and biotech industry invests an average of 16 percent of its turnover in R&D. The social footprint is also positive: more than 675,000 people are directly employed in European medical technology and more than 750,000 in the pharmaceutical industry. Indirectly, the latter even contributes to 2.5 million jobs in Europe.
