In January 2019, the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) published the negotiation objectives for a trade agreement with the EU. The BDI presents its position on all suggested areas of negotiation. Furthermore, German industries appeals for the abolishment of special US-tariffs on steel and aluminum and to not introduce any new tariffs on automotive sector in the name of national security.
