Urgent Need for WTO Reform

The World Trade Organisation (WTO) ensures rule-based trade as well as the settlement of disputes in a structured manner among its 164 members. However, the multilateral trading system is presently under stress and runs the risk of increasing protectionism among its members, stalemate and loss of relevance. The BDI calls upon the G20 to pursue urgently needed reform to resolve gridlocks and modernize the WTO to adapt to current world trade realities.
