Geopolitical tensions and increasing geo-economic fragmentation are putting rules-based trade under pressure. However, the WTO remains indispensable to be able to respond jointly to the most pressing challenges of our time, from climate change and pandemics to support for industry and food security. The BDI is confident that the 13th Ministerial Conference can advance the reform of the WTO and has made concrete proposals to this end.
