WTO Reform Urgently Needed
The World Trade Organisation (WTO) ensures rule-based trade as well as the settlement of disputes in a structured manner among its 164 members. However, the multilateral trading system is presently under stress. To protect the WTO from stalemate and loss of significance, reforms are urgently needed. The BDI supports the current reform initiatives of the EU and calls upon the G20 heads of state and government to make progress in modernising the WTO and resolving gridlocks.
