Climate Path Analysis for Transport in 2030

With its ambitious GHG reduction target in the transport sector by the year 2030 (reduction of 40 percent compared to 1990), the Federal Government has put itself under strong pressure to take action. The economically cost-efficient path - shown in the BDI study „Climate Paths for Germany“ – would achieve this reduction target with already very ambitious scenarios around the year 2035. In addition, enormous efforts on the part of politicians, society and business would be unavoidable, as would additional investments of 250 billion euros in order to achieve the ambitious climate target in the german transport sector.
